This new customized service sends an email when your account balance for your personal deposit account(s) or your available credit on your personal line of credit falls below $100.

Alterna Alerts are designed to make staying on top of your finances easy and avoid potential fees or declined payments.

Clients who have provided Alterna Bank with a valid email address are automatically enrolled in this no-cost service feature.

You can add or update your email address through Alterna Bank’s online banking service or by calling us at 1.866.560.0120.

Subscribers to Alterna Alerts will receive an email if their personal deposit account(s) balance falls below $100, or the available credit on their personal line of credit drops below $100. This will allow clients to avoid any potential fees or declined payments.

You can call the Contact Centre or go to one of Alterna Bank agency branches to change the threshold amount. Find an agency branch HERE.

If you would like to unsubscribe from Alterna Alerts email messages*, reply to the alert email without removing the original content with,

  • "Unsubscribe this account" to stop alerts for the specific account.

  • "Unsubscribe all accounts" to stop alerts for all of your Alterna accounts.

*Please allow two business days for the unsubscribe request to take effect.

Yes, all joint account holders who have provided Alterna Bank with a valid email address will receive Alterna Alerts.
